Q: I am only interested in tennis/ pickleball/ disc golf/ volleyball. Can I join for a lesser fee?

A: Yes! Westleigh Recreation Club (WRC) offers a courts-only membership, and disc golf and volleyball annual passes. Please go to the Registration page for more information.

Q: Can my child, a WRC member, get private swim or dive lessons?

A: Absolutely! Please contact any of our swim team or dive team coaches for availability.

Q: I don’t want to join the club, but just want my child to join the swim or dive team/ to get private lessons with the coaches. Can I do this without becoming a member?

A: No, in order to join the swim or dive teams and/or take private lessons with the coaches, you must be a member of WRC and pay annual membership dues. By joining, you benefit from full access to everything WRC offers, such as pool, tennis, pickleball, volleyball, disc golf, social events, camps, clubhouse rentals, basketball, gaga pit, and more.

Q: Who can be on my membership?

A: Please see the Registration page for an explanation of the different levels of membership.

Q: I have a nanny/ babysitter for my children. Can I put them on my membership?

A: Yes! Nannies and babysitters can be added to your account for an additional fee. 

Q: I would like to renew my membership but I haven’t been a member in a few years. Do I have to pay the initiation fee again?

A: No, the initiation fee is a one-time fee.

Q: Is my initiation fee refundable if I decide not to renew or if I move?

A: No, the initiation fee is to cover the costs of repair and maintenance of the property, and is therefore not refundable.

Q: I would like to join the club for the first time. Do I have to pay the initiation fee?

A: Yes, WRC is a small community club; the membership fee income is used to operate the club from year to year, and the initiation fees are allocated by the Board for improvements, upgrades, maintenance, regular repairs and emergency repairs.

EXCEPTION: THE INITIATION FEE IS WAIVED FOR ACTIVE DUTY MILITARY MEMBERS WHO WISH TO JOIN THE CLUB DURING A DUTY ROTATION.

Q: I’m going to be traveling a bit this summer/ my kids will be in camp. Can I renew my membership for only part of the season?

A: No, in order to be fair and consistent to the entire membership, renewals are not prorated or based on usage. We encourage members to consider the many member benefits such as discounted camp costs, pool, MCSL swim team, MCDL dive team, tennis, pickleball, volleyball, disc golf, social events, clubhouse rentals, basketball, gaga pit, and more that WRC offers throughout the year.

Q: I would like to join the club for the first time but it is the middle of the summer. Do you prorate the membership fee?

A: Yes, WRC prorates the membership fee for NEW members only. New members will pay the full initiation fee and a prorated membership fee based on the date of joining.

Q: Do I have to be a member of the Westleigh HOA subdivision to join the club?

A: No, WRC is not an HOA membership club and all are welcome, regardless of where you reside.  

Q: I live in the Westleigh HOA subdivision. Am I automatically a member of the club and don’t have to pay the initiation fee?

A: No, WRC is not an HOA membership club and initiation is not included in any HOA fees. The initiation fee is to cover the costs of repairs and maintenance of the property, and the dues are to help cover the current year’s operating costs.

Q: I purchased my home from a WRC member. Is the membership automatically transferable?

A: No, WRC membership is not by address, but by individual or family.

Q: Can I bring guests to the pool?

A: Yes! Guest passes are available for purchase within your member portal. Please contact the Membership Manager for questions regarding guest visits.

NOTE: GUESTS ARE LIMITED TO 4 COURT VISITS PER YEAR AND 2 POOL VISITS PER SEASON, AS GUEST PASSES ARE NOT TO BE USED TO REPLACE MEMBERSHIP.

Q: I have guests joining me from another country for the summer. Do I have to purchase guest passes for each visit?

A: Yes, however please contact the Membership Manager.

Q: At what age may children be left unsupervised at the club?

A: Children must be 12 years of age or older to be left alone at WRC, and must be at least 15 years of age to be supervising underage children (11 years or younger).

Q: Can children bring floats, rafts and “noodles” to the pool?

A: No, however, WRC periodically hosts “noodle night” pool parties; on these special nights, members can bring pool floats, rafts, flotation toys and “noodles” to the pool.

Q: Can I bring food and drink to the pool?

A: Food and drink may be enjoyed on grassy areas, patio areas and at tables, and members are responsible for cleaning up after themselves. The tables and patio area are available on a first-come, first-served basis. While WRC does not have a formal snack bar, many area restaurants deliver to the club.

NOTE: NO FOOD OR DRINK MAY BE CONSUMED ON THE CONCRETE POOL DECK.

NOTE: SMOKING IS NOT ALLOWED ANYWHERE ON THE PROPERTY.
